amber dawn! they are gorgeous! i love how you gave them little wings. i have a hard time with those tiny details. i seem to smush them out while working on the rest of it. how did you keep yours so neat?

Kelly, They are *hollow* on the inside too!
I do not mold them, but I *do* use a mold to start out with. A flat heart shape mold that I made using a heart charm.
Then I fold the creases together, and smoothe the seam. After the face is done, and I have the tail sort of formed, I press two small tear drops into the mold and make wings, then I burnish the wings on gently.

these are all lovely! the details on the birds are wonderful. kinda folk art looking. i'd love to see how you use them. are they beads? well done Amber Dawn!

i get it! a great idea. and they will be nice and light. when i was making little sculptures with the clay i had to use tin foil inside. the first one i made was solid clay and so heavy (plus it took forever in the oven). these are so lovely, amber. be sure to post what you do with them.
